Cousins!!

For Memorial Day, my uncle Mike came to visit and brought my cousins!! It was great to get to finally meet my cousins Taryn (11), Camryn (9), and Ryan (7)! We spent the day in downtown Saratoga Springs and even went to the park.
Our walk in the park was...well...a walk in the park! It was a little bright outside. Right, Dad?
I loved getting to feed the ducks. Ready... Aim... Fire!
Here Ducky Ducky!
Mom, hold me back!
Ryan discovered that you actually get more power and greater accuracy by standing on one leg!
Did you know that my Grandpa Rawert had a pet duck when he was a kid? Maybe Dad will let me bring home this one!
My cousins all got to ride on the carousel in the park. I would have joined them but I was taking a naplet at the time (plus, I had left my silks at home). What I REALLY wanted, though, was one of the cool stickers.
Here's me in the Saratoga Springs visitors center learning a little bit about the famous mineral waters.
Taryn wants to take me to see the musical "Wicked" someday!
My Uncle Mike is a lot of fun!
Hey, Uncle Mike - I'm gonna get your nose!
Later in the day, we got in a good game of "Where's the Baby?" before they had to head back to New Hampshire.

What a wonderful day! I hope I get to see my cousins again soon!!

FreeKairaReport.com

Well, I've got to admit it - I got caught up reading yet another book. And that ABC book was nothing compared to this one.
HIP HIP...HOORAY!! Final exams are over, spring semester grades are in, and graduation is behind us. Now, it's time to start the summer (and start blogging on a more regular basis)!!
Now that the semester is over and Mom and Dad have more time to play with me, Grammie headed back home to Kentucky. It may not take a village to raise a baby like me, but it definitely takes a mom, a dad, a Grammie, a Gram, and two gracious grandfathers willing to let me borrow their wives for a semester. Thanks everyone!!
My selection of menu items sure has increased lately. What started out as just cereal, apples, and yams has now exploded to include peaches, peas, prunes, bananas, carrots, green beans, and even chicken! Yep, it's official - I'M AN OMNIVORE! Did I mention that I have 2 teeth now? When I was teething, it felt good on my gums to chew on celery. I guess it was either that or the buffalo wings.Dad got me this cool net thing that we can put food in so I can try new foods. After trying a number of fruits and vegetables in there, Mom and Dad finally found something that I like. Any guesses as to what it was?
Tomatoes? Nope.
Apples? Nope.
Zesty Dill Pickes? Man, you're good! And so are spicy pickles. I've left the jungle and have now joined the circus. My friend Daniela has let me borrow her Circus Exersaucer and I LOVE IT! Here's me engaged in some serious (and fun) learning...
Here's me on my 8th month birthday:
Working out in the ExerSaucer has not only strengthened my mind, it's also strengthened my muscles, too. I'm not quite crawling yet, but I sure am creeping all over the place. If there's a toy I want, I'll find my way to it.
Now that the semester is over, I'm glad to be spending more time with Daddy!
And there's nothing like just chillaxing after a long semester of hard work!

Reduplicated Babbling

I started saying DADADADA on April 29th. Then, thanks to Grammie, I learned MAMAMAMA on May 2nd in time to wish Mommy a Happy Mother's Day in reduplicated babbles.

Here's a video showing my new vocal skills!

p.s. I've also started babbling with my hands, signing "milk" all the time!

Introducing Denny's new "Yam Slam"

I like to eat my tasty yams.
I like to eat them, Pops and Gram.

I like to eat them in my chair,
I like to eat them everywhere!

I like to eat them at high noon.
I like to eat them with two spoons.
I like to get them on my face.
I like to get them every place!
Those tasty yams I sure adore.
I wonder if there's any more?

I like to eat my tasty yams.
I like to eat them, Pops and Gram.

Where did the year go?

I was looking through some old photos the other day and found this one of me taken a year ago. Remember this picture? It was the first picture ever taken of me! I was really a little peanut!
Well, I've had quite the growth spurt this year, going from 2.5 inches long to 25 inches long and from 1/2 an ounce to almost 15 pounds! At this rate, I'll be over 20 feet tall and 450 pounds this time next year! We might need to get a bigger carseat...

I'm a Bum Genius...are you?

For about 3 months now, we've been using Bum Genius reusable pocket diapers at home and WE LOVE THEM! We started off with just a couple to try them out along with another brand. Then, I got on the internet and ordered a bunch more! Hooray for keeping disposables out of the landfills!

My only concern...isn't "Bum Genius" just a nice way of saying "Smart @$$"?
Who knew diapers could be so pretty?
The hardest part is choosing which one I want to wear next!
I'd like the orange one, please! Now the only thing left to do is to start filling them!

I'll spare you the pictures, but trust me when I say that after I get done with it, the inside of the diaper isn't quite as pretty as the outside...
