Hello and welcome to my Blog! Here, you will be able to find out the latest news in my life and see pictures of me as I grow up! :D Feel free to add your comments.
CLOTHES FROM THE SALVATION ARMY
Buying used clothes instead of new clothes serves a number of financial, environmental, social, and spiritual benefits including:
1. it keeps clothes out of the landfill
2. it costs less (I've seen some onesies there for only 25 cents!) so you can spend the additional money supporting a missionary
3. it reduces the energy and material costs that are involved in making and transporting new clothes from around the world
4. it guarantees that the money you spend on clothes doesn't go to a sweat shop
5. it provides me with a diverse selection of clothes
6. for some people, it is a humbling experience, detaching them from the materialistic mindset and entitlement to "newness" that pervades American culture
7. it supports Salvation Army's community programs and disaster relief efforts (for more information, see http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/)
USED BOOKS
Used books are also perfectly fine. I'm planning on reading them over and over again and loving them to pieces...literally. I will throw up on them. I will rip them. I will spill my juice on them. So if you give me any used, already well-loved books, I will happily add my love to them, too.
REUSABLE POCKET DIAPERS
Reusable pocket diapers can be purchased online at:
http://www.softclothbunz.com/Pocket-Diapers_c_76.html I'm hoping to get a wide variety of brands and colors so pick out anything! Thanks for helping me keep ~6000 diapers out of the landfills.
TOYS
I prefer toys that are (1) made in the USA, (2) from Ten Thousand Villages (http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/home.php), or (3) used but clean.
